We are currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Camp Director:(July and August)-Multiple positions 

The Camp Director is responsible for the successful operation of their STEM Camp location. Each Camp Director reports directly to the Camp Coordinator and the Management Team at head office which includes the CEO, Executive Director and Community Relations Director.

The responsibilities of a Camp Director include but are not limited to:

  • Training and supervising staff at your assigned location
  • Ensuring that all emergency procedures are taught and practiced by all campers and staff at your location
  • Ensuring a smooth pick-up and drop-off process at the start and end of each day
  • Communicating with parents, either in person of by phone whenever a parent seeks assistance or information about the camp or their children
  • Carrying out duties as assigned by the Camp Coordinator or any member of the management team which includes, CEO, Executive Director and Community Relations Director
  • Purchasing extra camp supplies when approved by the Camp Coordinator or Management Team
  • Managing Counsellors-In-Training (CIT) at your location
  • Leading activities with children of all ages when necessary
  • Performing duties as a Camp Counsellor in an emergency situation should one of the regular Camp Counsellors be unable
  • Administrative tasks including completing incident reports, accident reports, following up on absent campers and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Engaging parents by providing appropriate and professional feedback
  • Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions in all daily routines and program delivery with campers and your peers
  • Submitting to Head Office in cooperation with the Education Coordinator, daily pictures and videos of activities taking place at STEM Camp within the confines of privacy laws
  • Attending the mandatory training day for all Camp Directors
  • Completing non-paid Health and Safety Training
  • Adhering to all STEM Camp policies including “Policy for the Protection of Children”
  • Adhering to the Activity Schedule and Training Manual

Photos and videos should feature:

  • Educational purpose of the activity and how it related to possible future careers
  • Lab visit or guest presentation synopsis if applicable

The successful applicant will demonstrate a dynamic and interesting personality and possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Education Coordinator:(July and August)-Multiple Positions

The Education Coordinator is primarily responsible for the successful implementation of the curriculum at their STEM Camp location. Each Education Coordinator reports directly to the Camp Director.

The responsibilities of an Education Coordinator include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising staff to ensure the STEM Camp curriculum is properly implemented
  • Leading activities with children of all ages
  • Developing activities to help fill programming if needed
  • Performing duties as a Camp Counsellor in an emergency situation should one of the regular Camp Counsellors be unable
  • Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions in all daily routines and program delivery with campers and your peers
  • Ensuring that all emergency procedures are taught and practiced by all campers and staff at your location

Camp Counsellor:(July and August)-Multiple Positions

A STEM Camp Counsellor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of campers who attend STEM Camp. Each Camp Counsellor reports to the Camp Director and Education Coordinator. As a Camp Counsellor, you will be guiding campers through STEM-related activities centred around the topics of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. A strong academic foundation in these areas is a huge asset. A Camp Counsellor must be fun and energetic but also have good group management skills. Camp Counsellors are responsible for implementing activities, respecting health and safety protocols, assisting with activity clean up and exhibiting strong leadership and initiative skills.

The responsibilities of a Camp Counsellor include but are not limited to:

  • Supervising and supporting campers aged 5 to 13
  • Assisting campers in learning about STEM while providing a fun and safe environment
  • Assisting the Camp Director and Education Coordinator to ensure a smooth pick-up and drop-off process at the start and end of each day
  • Implementing the STEM Camp curriculum by leading inquiry, discussion and activities with campers of all ages
  • Ensuring that all emergency procedures are taught and practiced by all campers and staff at your location
  • Carrying out any duties assigned by the Camp Director or Education Coordinator
  • Mentoring Counsellors-In-Training (CIT) at your location
  • Engaging parents by providing appropriate and professional feedback
  • Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions in all daily routines and program delivery with campers and your peers
  • Adhering to the Activity Schedule and Training Manual
  • Adhering to all STEM Camp policies including “Policy for the Protection of Children”
  • Completing non-paid Health and Safety Training
  • Attending a training session at your site prior to the start of camp

Camp Counsellor-in-Training (unlimited positions available):

Under the supervision of the Camp Director, the Counselor-In-Training (aged 14-16) is responsible for assisting counsellors in leading and working with campers through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) related activities and and other assigned duties. A strong emphasis on developing leadership skills is incorporated into the non-paid Counselor-In-Training program.

Warehouse Coordinator:(May-August) 1 Position

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for providing inventory control support to STEM Camp locations and reports to Head Office in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations at STEM Camp.  This position is located in Woodstock, On.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing daily office support and ensure that STEM Camp operations are maintained in an efficient, up-to-date manner
  •  Communicating with location and Head Office personnel
  • Receiving and unpacking boxes of supplies shipped to the warehouse
  • Entering the supplies into the inventory system
  • Packing boxes of supplies to be shipped to camp locations across Ontario
  • Using company vehicle to drive supplies to camp locations periodically
  • Performing other office duties as required

 The Warehouse Coordinator must have a proficient general knowledge in these areas:

  •  Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • General office procedures, following a pre-determined inventory tracking system
  • Ability to produce reports for Management Team use

The Warehouse Coordinator will demonstrate these important skills:

  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

 The Warehouse Coordinator must encompass the attributes of honesty and trustworthiness in the workplace. They must also be able to have flexibility and adaptability to new situations. A strong work ethic and a high level of confidentiality with respect to company and client information is required. Successful applicants require a valid drivers license and their own car as well as the ability to work the entire 4 months – no holidays are included with this posting
