How to Connect: Instructions

Important Information

  • The private STEM Camp Minecraft Server will be available from 9am until 4pm daily.
  • There will be a moderator online intermittently monitoring the server from 9am to 4pm.
  • The moderator will be there to assist with any issues with the challenges and issues with other players to the best of their ability.
  • STEM Camp will NOT be providing technical support for the Minecraft game or platform.

Rules

  1. Chat content and usernames should be appropriate for children.
  2. No breaking other campers’ builds, or ruining their fun.
  3. No cheating or attempting to break the server.
  4. No harassing other campers or using bad language.
  5. Ultimately, be respectful and considerate.
  6. Violations of these rules, and any other harmful behaviour (as determined by our moderators) may lead to a permanent ban from the server.
  7. The rules will periodically be posted in the chat room as a reminder.
If your child is having any issues, please have them message “HELP” in the chat. We have a large number of campers joining us this year, so please let them know to keep trying!

Daily Theme

Theme: Travel to the Stars and Launch Party

Instructions:

The human race is about to launch into space to explore the stars and colonize planets! Let’s throw a big launch party for the brave people are going to colonize the universe!

We found a perfect place for the launch pad at coordinates: 370 / 70 / 581. Have younger players ask the moderator to teleport them to the build site.

Please have your campers work together, and help out the younger players if they can!

We’re going to need a few things:

  1. We’re going to need a launch pad for the seed ship.
  2. Now for the ship. It’s gotta be big! Please work together to build the rockets, ship, living quarters. Don’t forget about food, plants, greenhouses!
  3. The explorers will also need smaller ships, rovers, mining equipment and more!
  4. We’re going to need a “Mission Control” back here on Earth, with a communications tower to keep us in touch with our explorers.
  5. Now what we have the technology, we’re going to want to throw a big party to see off our explorers.
  6. The party can be in a spacious indoor area or an outdoor space like a garden or beach. Last year the campers built an entire hotel where they held a party!
  7. Think about what you want to have at the party and what activities you want to include. Will there be music, games, food, or special decorations…fireworks?
  8. Set up tables for food and drinks, create a dance floor, a stage, set up game stations, and decorate the area with balloons, streamers, banners, lights, and other festive decorations.
  9. Party time! Finally, throw a virtual party with your friends, and enjoy all the festivities you’ve created together!
