Will Summer Camps Be Open This Year?

Group of Children Celebrating

The news we have all been waiting for has finally been announced. We finally know the answer to “will summer camps be open this year?” that’s on everyone’s mind. As was reported by various news outlets including the Toronto Star and Global News, Premier Doug Ford announced Sunday, May 16th that camps will be allowed to operate this summer in the Province of Ontario.

While the Premier indicated more details would be forthcoming in the days ahead, STEM Camp CEO and Founder Kevin Cougler remarked:

“I would like to thank the Ontario Camps Association, SickKids Hospital and the Pediatricians of Ontario for their tireless work with the Ontario government working toward this outcome. The last year has not been easy and STEM Camp stands by to do its part to help bring some excitement and fun back into summer for parents and their children. We couldn’t be more pleased with this announcement. We are looking forward to a safe and fun summer”!

There are currently almost four thousand (4,000) campers registered for the summer of 2021 in fifty-one (51) locations across Ontario. Some locations are already sold out as parents opted for early registration in the hopes that summer camps would be able to operate. If you were waiting to hear if camps could operate and have not yet registered, we strongly suggest you beat the rush that will occur with this announcement and secure your spot at STEM Camp as fast as you can.

Looking forward to seeing you this summer!
